#GREENGOLDThe culture of oil and olive trees
Extra virgin olive oil, the green gold of the Mediterranean, is a millenary food with an extraordinary history.#LUPOLIOCulture of olive oil
Every year we work to guarantee a high-quality oil with unique characteristics. We are constantly looking for the highest quality for our customers. In the Bible, the olive tree is indicated with the Hebrew term zait while the terms semen or yizhar indicate oil. However, the terms olive and olive tree derive from the Latin olivum ablative of oleum.
It was the Roman civilization that favored, in a decisive way, the spread of olive trees and oil throughout the Mediterranean basin. In the villae rusticae, actual farms, there was an area intended for the conservation of oil in large terracotta pots that were partially buried.
Today olive oil is the main ingredient of the Mediterranean diet with its exceptional healthy and nutritional properties.
